Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler Essay - 529 Words

In 1933 Hitler became chancelor of Germany. This was the first step for rising to power. Once the leader of Germany died Hitler said that they did not need to fill in that position again. Hitler came up with the final solution while he was in jail. Hitler had gone to jail for treason and his sentence was for five years, but he was let out after about nine months. In the short time that Hitler was in jail he wrote a book called Mein Kampf which means my struggle. In this book Hitler wrote all the ways that he was going to make Germany rise to power again. Many copies of his book were sold. Which is how he gained a lot of his popularity in Germany. They had been hiding for about two years. Everyone in the secret annex got taken to concentration camps. Anne and her sister Margot had gone to three different camps. At the third camp Anne and her sister had died. Everyone else died at the second camp except for Annes dad Otto Frank. Otto Frank was the only one that lived through the camps. Once Otto got back home he told the people that were hiding them about the camps and how everyone had died. Otto did not know if Anne and Margot were still alive or not. It turned out that Anne and Margot both died in the third camp. Otto Frank then started the Anne Frank Foundation and died in 1981. I think that everyone should read Annes Diary so that they can see what happened from a person in hidings perspective. Also to get a better undeerstanding of what was happening in the war. I think that we learn about the Holocaust because we need to understand why it happened and how it happened. It was also a very big thing to happen in history. The Holocaust changed a lot of how we do things. We do not want it to happen again. We need to know how to pick good leaders and not another Hitler. By learning about it we can recognize the signs of another Holocaust possibly happening again.
